Miguel Da Silva | College Recruiter, Platform Sports Management

Miguel brings first-hand experience of the U.S. college soccer system as both a former student-athlete and current college recruiter. Having competed across four college programs and three semi-professional summer leagues in the U.S., Miguel understands recruitment, transfers, and development from the inside. A former NJCAA All-American and top Division I goal scorer, he now works with Platform Sports to help athletes and families navigate the realities of the college pathway with clarity and confidence.

Davide Poledda, Current Junior at Webber International College 

Davide Angelo Poledda is a Dutch student-athlete currently competing as a Junior at Webber International University, where he plays primarily as a Right Wing Back / Central Midfielder. Known for his versatility and football IQ, Davide balances a demanding athletic schedule with strong academic performance, maintaining an impressive 3.9 GPA. Before moving to the United States, Davide developed his game in the Netherlands, playing for Sparta Enschede and FC Winterswijk, both competing in the 6th division of Dutch football. One of his standout moments came early in his senior football journey, scoring two goals on debut for FC Winterswijk, highlighting his ability to adapt quickly and perform under pressure. Davide came straight into the U.S. college system without attending any previous colleges or participating in summer league teams, making his transition a valuable case study for international players considering the American pathway.

This free session is designed to educate parents and athletes on how the US college system works for student athletes. We’ll cover scholarship opportunities, academic requirements, the recruitment process, and what life is like as a student-athlete in the US.

Will this help my child get a scholarship?

Yes! We’ll walk you through how scholarships work for track and field, how to improve your child’s chances, and what college coaches are looking for in both athletes and students.

Do we need to have elite times or rankings to be considered?

Not necessarily. We’ll explain the different levels of college competition (Division 1, Division 2, NAIA, JUCO) and how there are opportunities for a wide range of athletes—not just national champions.

Will you explain the academic requirements too?

Yes, absolutely. We’ll cover GPA, SAT/ACT requirements (if needed), and how academics play a role in the recruitment and scholarship process.
