Building a College-Ready Golfer:

Performance, Health & the US College Pathway

This webinar is about what college coaches actually mean when they say a golfer is “college-ready”.

Will Clarkson from Platform Sports is joined by Adam Weeks from Fit To Play to talk through how performance, physical preparation, and staying healthy play a bigger role in recruitment than many families realise.

The focus isn’t just on scores or rankings, but on how coaches look at long-term development, durability, and whether a golfer is built to handle the college environment.

What coaches look for beyond scores, and how to prepare properly at 14–18

Many junior golfers are playing plenty of tournaments but still aren’t preparing in the right way for college golf. This webinar looks at how coaches view readiness, how physical preparation impacts recruitment, and what parents and athletes should be thinking about earlier in the journey.

What We’ll Cover:

This session will cover:

  • How U.S. college golf recruitment actually works
  • What college coaches look for beyond tournament scores
  • Why strength, movement quality, and durability matter for golfers
  • Common overuse injuries and physical mistakes in junior golf
  • How poor preparation can affect scholarships and long-term progress
  • What “college-ready” really means at ages 16–18
  • How to balance tournaments, training, and development properly
