Meet Your Host

William Clarkson

William Clarkson has helped over 80 student-athletes secure more than $10 million in U.S. college scholarships. Born and raised in Kumeu, Auckland, he attended Rosmini College and represented New Zealand at the 2024 Lacrosse World Cup—one of four brothers to do so. William’s own college journey began with a single offer to Chestnut Hill College, where he competed in lacrosse for two years before returning home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now at Platform Sports, he’s focused on giving athletes a better recruitment experience and more opportunities than he had. Outside of work, you’ll likely find him fishing off the coast.

Yes! We’ll walk you through how scholarships work for track and field, how to improve your child’s chances, and what college coaches are looking for in both athletes and students.

Do we need to have elite times or rankings to be considered?

Not necessarily. We’ll explain the different levels of college competition (Division 1, Division 2, NAIA, JUCO) and how there are opportunities for a wide range of athletes—not just national champions.
